It is not easy to stay in peoples eyes and their minds when you have a minuscule budget and a small business. You have to do some creative things so that people will not forget that you are there. There are some great things that people do to get more exposure that you could try for your own business. Many of these things take a little more effort but a lot less money.
Doing something interesting is a good idea. It has to be something that will intrigue people enough so that they decide to visit to check things out. This can be any number of oddball things. Some coffee shops have regular poetry readings. This type of thing can develop into having a regular following. It is like having a weekly event that you can promote to get people excited and give cute logo t-shirts to participants.
You can have classes if your business has the space. For a small specialty grocery store, this is ideal. You have all the supplies that you need, and you can pick simple items that won’t be impossible in the space that you have with serious kitchen requirements. For instance learning to make sushi takes no cooking at all, you can have all the ingredients ready for your students complete with a promotional apron and bag to carry home their goodies.
Once you have a few of these events or do something similar, people will become accustomed to regular happenings. It will also be helpful that there are participants walking around with your promotional items for people to see. Whatever you decide to do, giving away small items to remind people of your business is a good idea. Even if it is as simple as a refrigerator magnet.
With a little research, you may even be able to score free publicity. Finding free advertising space for your product or service may be difficult, but it is often possible to secure free advertising for literary or music events, as well as classes and entertainment offerings. Free publicity is, of course, always the ideal way to gain visibility for your company.
