Effective Marketing – Identifying with What’s in the Customer’s Mind

In order to succeed with your business marketing, you should understand the psychological aspects of it. In other words, study human behaviour to see what makes people do the things they do. Customers buy things for two primary reasons – to meet a need or simply because they desire it. As a business owner, you should be aware that it is not necessarily what your product or service can offer your customers but why they are buying it in the first place.

Take diet pills for instance. People do not buy them simply for their health. They are buying what they perceive will be the end result – a trimmer body that can wear a few sizes smaller. With face creams, the motivation is looking years younger, not necessarily because of the latest antioxidant ingredient in them. The bottom line for your service or product is what it does for your customers. How does it make them feel? When you plan your marketing campaign, it is important to keep the psychological aspects of the customers in the forefront of your mind.

One of the best free ways to promote your website is using forums. In order to fully harness the power of forum promotion, you need to do three things:

1)Find the best 1 or 2 forums in your field 2)Create an account and start posting non-promotional, value-adding posts to build your reputation 3)Then and only then, begin to promote your product

Although the above three steps may seem simple, let’s take a closer look at what each step entails.

Finding the Best Forums

Finding the best forum is mostly a numbers game. You should search for forums in your field in Google, by searching “[your field name] forum” and then looking at the top results. You should generally pick the most active forums.

Basically there are only 3x major expenses.

1. Domain

The first expense is a domain name. This is the name you will be giving to your website. When people type in your domain name in their browser they’ll get access to your website. This is also called a “URL” or “Web address”. The domain name does not give you a website, but just gives you the rights to use the name that you have chosen.
